June 24, 1991
- Clash of the Champions happened this week and was a disappointment of a show because they tried to cram so much into it. Several top matches lasted less than 5 minutes because they were so rushed for time. Dave says there's 2 great shows there that got compressed into one mediocre one and then goes on to review each match.
- Scott Steiner tore his bicep at a show and had surgery and will be out for at least 2 months (ended up being way longer than that).
- The first WBF Championship event was a rousing success in front of a packed house in Atlantic City. Gary Strydom won the first place prize. The production value was far and away better than anything the IFBB ever presents and probably has them shaking in their boots. Regis Philbin, Donald Trump and wife Marla were in attendance.

- Joe Pedicino's GWF is indeed taking over the ESPN timeslot from USWA. ESPN was unhappy with several things USWA was doing: low production quality for the TV shows, constant blood (which they refuse to air), man-on-woman violence, among other things. USWA was basically the Attitude Era before that or even ECW existed.
- Speaking of USWA in Memphis, several debuts this week, including Leatherface, who I vividly remember from his feud with Lawler back around this time. Leatherface the wrestler is said to be the real person that the Texas Chainsaw movies were based on. Okay then.

- WCW's St. Louis show only drew 1,726 fans, which means WWF will probably be back to having an exclusive deal there in no time.
- Ralston Purina signed a deal with WWF for a cereal, so expect a Hulk Hogan breakfast cereal soon, probably.

- Virgil will be dressing as a woman and appearing as "Virgilina" alongside Roddy Piper in matches against Ted Dibiase the rest of the summer. I didn't remember this and didn't believe it actually happened so I googled, and, well:

- Hulk Hogan is also talking about taking the fall off to film a movie. (The only movie I saw that came out after this was Mr. Nanny and that wasn't until 1993. So either it didn't happen, or he filmed the movie almost 2 years before it came out.)
